Grocer with a Heart is a ministry of Brighton Church of Christ and aims to help those who are susceptible to food insecurity.
Food security is broadly defined as “the state in which all persons obtain safe, nutritionally adequate and culturally acceptable food on a regular basis, through non-emergency sources”
Grocer with a Heart’s mission is to provide food security, sharing God’s love, and fostering relationships.
This is a grocery outlet for our local community, their families and friends – anyone who is need of reliable access to sufficient, affordable and nutritious food.
Everyone is welcome to shop at the Grocer with a Heart, where our low prices mean your grocery spend is a smaller proportion of your income. This gives you more money to meet other financial commitments.

We are here for you! Become a member of Grocer with a Heart and be part of this community programme where we all help each other and those with a greater need. Membership is free.
Shopping at Grocer With a Heart
Members pay a $3 entry fee which entitles them to our supplies of fruit, vegetables and bread. Minimum spend of $5. The majority of food items are 20 items for $20 with other items priced as marked. Don’t need 20 items? Then 10 items for $12.
You will find a wide range of staple foods such as fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, cereals and breads. We also stock personal hygiene products, pet food, sweets and soft drinks.
We are mindful of dietary needs and stock gluten free and vegan products.
Opening Hours
Monday: 10.00am to 1.00pm
Tuesday to Friday: 10.00am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Saturday: 10.00am to 1.00pm
Entrance is on the western (seaside) side of the Church building.
